Welcome back to Muncie, Indiana. People have taken the time to make the annual trek for the Outdoor AMA Nats. The numbers for our events are up from previous years, and, in fact, it looks like we have hit the 82 mark for AMA 426 (Q500).

Day two of the Indoor Nats saw competition flying begin in earnest. The F1D Nats event ended on July 2 in order to accommodate the nine rounds of the F1D World Cup. This scheduling nuance wasn’t initially understood by some of the competitors, who thought that the two events would overlap by a day on Wednesday.

The 101st iteration of the AMA Nats kicks off on Monday, July 1, 2024, at the Kibbie Dome in Moscow, Idaho. The Kibbie Dome, which is situated atop one of the gently rolling hills of the Palouse, is perhaps the most prominent landmark on the University of Idaho’s campus.

One hundred years ago, a handful of model aviation enthusiasts gathered for an event in St. Louis in what would become known as the National Aeromodeling Championships, commonly referred to as the Nats.

Well, this is it. Another Nats is in the books—a special one, considering it’s the 100th anniversary of the first Nats. Everyone had a great time, and I look forward to seeing everyone continue to improve with their flying in the future.
